Maine is among the states that rank highest in U.S. melanoma deaths and our melanoma incidence rate is higher than both California and Florida! Luckily, it's one cancer that can be prevented and detected relatively easily. Catching the tumor early is the key to less invasive treatment and ultimate survival. Another key is taking the threat seriously and by taking precautions to avoid it in the first place.
